Half-Day, Every Day Kindergarten
with optional Kinder Reach program

Kindergarten brochure imageHalf-Day, Every Day kindergarten offers a 2 1/2-hour session either in the morning or the afternoon.

A typical daily schedule includes time for reading readiness, math, social studies and science, music, stories, physical education, and free time.

In addition to regular classroom work, licensed teachers in music, art, and physical education offer specialized instruction. Students use the media center on a regular basis, and participate in field trips and all-school activities such as assemblies.

Kinder Reach is a fee-based program that provides an expansion and enrichment of the half-day kindergarten curriculum. Kindergartners may attend Kinder Reach during the half-day that precedes or follows their regular kindergarten class. Kinder Reach is offered through the District's Adventure Club School-Age Care program, and is available from one to five days per week, with an optional hot lunch.

Kindergarten Plus
All-day, every day

Kindergarten Plus is an all day, every day option for parents who wish to combine their child's half-day kindergarten program with an additional half day of enrichment activities taught by a licensed kindergarten teacher. It provides a fun, educational option for children who are ready for a longer school day and/or who would otherwise spend the remainder of the school day in child care. In this program, students spend the entire day in the same classroom with their kindergarten teacher.

Kindergarten Plus is a fee-based program. The State of Minnesota funds the half-day kindergarten portion; parents pay tuition for the remaining half-day enrichment program.

Kindergarten Plus program features:
  • More time with a licensed kindergarten teacher
  • Additional opportunities for individual instruction
  • Fun, educational enrichment opportunities that complement the kindergarten program
  • Safe, caring learning environment
  • Fewer transitions during the day; more stability for the child's schedule
Adventure Club, the District's School-Age Care program, offers optional supervised care before and/or after school. Hot lunch is available every day.

Kindergarten Plus annual tuition for 2013-2014 is $3,050, payable in 10 equal installments.
