Facilities

Westonka Schools owns and operates four schools, a district education center and a transportation building. Maintaining these buildings is an important part of being good fiscal stewards of taxpayer resources for both educational and budgetary reasons:

  • It helps ensure the district can provide a safe and appropriate environment within which students can learn and staff can teach.
  • Investing in necessary deferred maintenance reduces the risk to the operating budget, where $2.1 million in programs and personnel has been cut in the past five years.

Age of district facilities:
  • Shirley Hills Primary School – 1951
  • Grandview Middle School – 1958
  • Hilltop Primary School – 1964
  • Transportation – 1970
  • Mound Westonka High School – 1972
  • Educational Service Center – 2002
